As I approached the edge of the cliff, two men stepped up to my aid

on

A shadow moved close, but it was only the shadow of the falling snow, and
they quickly made my way to my feet. A second later their feet were next to
mine followed by their eyes.

I was no longer walking alone.

When I met their gaze, I saw in them hope.

I saw in them an understanding of the way I was struggling to survive. An
understanding of my life. They saw my heart. If these men were willing to
follow me to the end, I would follow them to the end as well. No matter how
great the cost.

As we walked, my mind took a break from my thoughts to think of my children.
One day I would return and take them home, but it would be a different time
and place than the one I had just seen. A time and a place where all of our
fears have been put to rest.

A place I had imagined to be a sanctuary. Where the only people
who would give a damn were my family and friends.

A place I had thought was filled with the most beautiful souls on earth. A
place where you could always come off as a hero.

A place where you could be the hero without being the hero.

A place that is so beautiful on the outside, but so cold on the inside.

A place where no one would even notice that you were on probation.

A place that offers no second chances, because a second chance is not
something you give.

A place that makes a man run in the opposite direction when he is about to
jump off a cliff. But what separates the hero from the coward? The difference
is in the way a hero looks at the world.

The hero looks outside. To the world that he sees on a daily basis. The hero
is the one who understands.

The hero is the one who sees beauty in the world.

A hero recognizes this beautiful world that they live in.

And the hero understands that the world they live in is not perfect, but
there is beauty to be found in this world. There is always someone out there
who stands in the gap and is willing to give you someone to look up to.

A hero sees the beauty everywhere.

A hero sees the beauty in the world.

The world is out there, and it is ready to receive you.

I took a deep breath, and my voice shook as if I was about to break
down. I knew no man had ever stepped up here this deeply before. The
shivering fit continued to take over my body, but a deeper silence settled
in my mind.

A silence that gave my mind a moment to take a step back and take stock of the situation.

A silence that I had feared was a sign of a man who could not lead. A
silence that was a sign of a man who failed.

As I looked into the faces of the men around me, I saw they were a family.

As I looked in their eyes, I knew that they would carry the world with them.

But because they did not feel the need to save me, they failed.

One by one, they failed.

When they were able to walk away, I saw a few walk with a limp.

I saw a few with bruises.

I saw a few who had been cut by the fallen branches.

I saw a few of a few in a lot of pain.

But it was not the pain that made me feel different. I took my
eye’s to the beauty in the world. I saw the beauty in the world.

The world that I lived in.

I saw a world that was beautiful on the outside, but so cold and desolate on the inside.

I saw a world that had made heroes out of men who had been broken by fear.

But because they had not faced the pain, they had failed.

But because they had faced the pain, they had been destroyed.

I saw a world that had made men see the world.

I saw a world that was filled with the most wonderful souls on earth.

I saw a world where nothing could touch you.

But because nothing is meant to touch you, you die.

You are broken because you have not faced the world.

You are broken because you have not faced your pain.

You are broken because you are not courageous.

Every man must face their pain.

Every man must face his fear.

Every man must choose to see their pain, and then they will never make
heroes.

But the only way to make a man is to look at the world with hope.

The only way to make a man is to look at the world like a hero.

The world is beautiful, and it is your responsibility to see that beauty.

The world is beautiful, and it is your responsibility to see that beauty
face to face.

But the world is not perfect, and you have to hold that in your heart.

No man can be everything to everyone.

No man can see the world as a hero, and no one can make a hero.

You have to find your hero within yourself.

You have to find your hero without the hero.

You have to find your hero by looking outside of yourself.

By looking outside of yourself. You have to look for a hero within yourself.

You have to look to see a hero by looking outside of yourself.

You have to look outside of yourself.

By looking outside of yourself. You have to look with hope.

You have to look with hope.

You have to look to see the beautiful world, and you have to look with hope.

You have to look to see the beautiful world with hope.

The world is beautiful, and you have to look with hope.

The world is beautiful, and you have to look with hope.

You have to look with hope.

You have to look with hope.

You have to look with hope.
