Quinton pulled out a sheet of paper and handed it to Frank

“I just had the best idea,” Quinton said, still following the progress of
the carousel at a distance.

“Great idea,” Cried Jess.

“Why don’t we build our own…” Quincy started, then looked at the others.
He had a look on his face and Bo saw it. He looked happy; as he usually did
when he had a good idea.

“Oh I get it. You’re always talking about building our own carousel but
we never had a chance to do it.” Said Emil with a smile.

“Well I am!” Quinton said proudly. “For one, I figure I know how to build
it better than anyone. Second, I have a good team of people working on this
carousel and all the tools and equipment necessary for building and
operating it from end to end. What I need now is a design for the
carousel.”

The others just stared at him.

“I have some ideas but I also want that design. As you know, we don’t have
all the money for a new one so the best thing to do is to get one we already
have working instead of wasting it.” He finished with a grin.

“You know you can use what we’ve already designed,” Frank said.

“I know, but they need to make this thing work. We need one that would fit
with the original.”

“You already have the old carousel working?”

“Yeah, but not well. If we get another, one that works, we can make a huge
profit.”

Frank nodded and pulled out another piece of paper that he had been holding
in his hand. After checking to make sure he had everything, he held it up
in the air and walked to the front of the stage.

“OK, that’s it. I think it’s time to put this all together. We’re almost
finished.” He said and handed a sheet of paper to Quincy. “I hope it works.
I want to get this carousel working and running for as long as we can.
Right now, we’re barely getting by.”

“We’ll make it, Frank, we’ll make it,” Cried Jess, as she watched the
engine turn over and the gears grind into action around the same time that
Frank had finished speaking.

The wheels rumbled into position. The engine turned over. The gears
gripped into the driving position and the engine revved. The old carousel
rattled, then slowly ground to life. The gears were replaced and the
wheel-wells were filled. The carousel shifted gears and rumbled back into
motion. The old, and now broken, carousel shifted into gear and began to roll
like never before.

At first, it seemed slow, and steady, but as the wheel turned in its gear,
the carousel picked up speed. It ground up to a crawl but it was a steady,
slow crawl. Eventually, the carousel picked up speed. The wheels began to
turn and the carousel slowed down and picked up speed. It slowed down and
picked up speed as it rolled forward. It would slow down again but after a
while, it would pick up speed once more. It would slow down then pick up
speed, in a smooth, steady pace.

Quinton and the others watched in awe as the carousel continued to speed
over the ground, and then it picked up speed in the air. It flew higher
and higher and then started to climb a hill and then started to descend into
a valley and then picked up speed and picked up speed as it rose up the
other side of the hill and then picked up speed again. It picked up speed
then again began to climb a hill and then picked up speed and picked up speed
again. It stopped flying, climbed a hill, then began to speed in a steady,
unbroken glide down the hill, and then it picked up speed again and began to
speed upward again down another hill. It picked up speed again, the carousel
glided over the ground, picked up speed and again began to speed across the
land. It picked up speed again and began to speed across a valley and then
picked up speed as it sped across another valley and began to speed back up
the hill. It picked up speed once more and began to roll across a meadow,
picked up speed once more and picked up speed as it continued to speed over
the meadow. It picked up speed again and began to speed over the meadow and
picked up speed as it speed over another meadow and picked up speed as it
speed over yet another meadow. The group watched in awe as the carousel
picked up speed, lifted off the ground, and began to move across the meadows,
picking up speed, picking up speed, lifting off the ground, and beginning
to move across the rolling meadow, picking up speed, lifting off the ground,
and beginning to move across the rolling meadow. It would climb a hill,
then speed up and pick up speed. It would fly up, then pick up speed and
lift off the ground to speed across the meadow and pick up speed again.
The group watched in awe as the carousel continued to pick up speed, speed,
lift off the ground, speed, as it picked up speed, speed, lift off the
ground, speed and begin to pick up speed, speed, lift off the ground, speed,
and begin to pick up speed, speed, lift off the ground, speed.
