To escape the world that Tommy lived in, he had to find another place, and
that’s where he found the perfect escape. In the library, Tom searched for
entries that would help him to escape this cruel, cold, confusing world.
Once he found it in the entry for the place where books read people, he began
to read. Once he found the right entry, he opened the book in his hand and
began his journey.
Once he’d found the right entry, he began to read. It wasn’t long before he
began to wonder why all the books were so dull. It was not the kind of book
that he was looking for, and before he knew it, he’d read the entire book.
“That book isn’t like the other books,” he thought to himself. “And now I see
why. It’s written by the people, not by the books.”
When he finished the book, only three pages were left, and he found the exit.
He was on his way to a new, better world, one that had a lot more to offer
than the one Tommy had been living in for more than a year now. He was
thrilled.
Tommy’s life really did change, and the world began to change in
response to Tommy’s presence, changing in ways that just didn’t make sense.
But Tom was a curious kid, and his curiosity was the only thing that could
divert this situation.
Tommy then decided to test his new belief, and traveled to the library to
find more information regarding the place he was reading about. He found
more entries, finding many that gave him more information than he’d ever
before seen in the books that were in the library. He soon found a place that
had everything he wanted and more than he ever knew existed.
Tommy LaFontaine lived in a world where books read people, and that he was now
helping to guide his new world into being.
